On May 14th we had another Dr's appointment.
This appointment was the long one. They did the diabetic test so it took over an hour. Everything came out fine. During the appointment I learned a few things that I would like to note. (More for myself to remember.)
The birth mom is deathly afraid of needles. She had be laid down and her mom had her look at her and do deep breathing. She then had to stay laid down for a while so as to not pass out.
Afterwards she tried to get the baby to move so I could see it. She didn't want to move, but she did let me feel her. It was so cool.
A few notes of interest on the adoption process:
We have found a lady to do the home study and now have a mountain of paperwork to fill out. Everything from the why, what, where and how to stuff I don't understand why they need. One thing is the physical description of each of our family members and there hobbies.
The birth mom has also changed her mind on how she would like to handle the hospital. At first she didn't want to see the baby at all until we sent pictures. Now, after reading a book on dealing with the emotional side, she has changed her request. She has now decided she would like to hold and talk to her to say good-bye. Then had her to us. She would also like a picture and has asked if it would be OK if she bought the outfit she comes home in. After that she still just wants a letter and picture 1-2 times a year. It just amazes me how grown up she is at only 17.
